JAMMU, May 25: Shuttlers, Peddlers and Carrom players displayed extraordinary skills to vie for the top honours in their respective disciplines on day-2 of the Jammu University Employees Tournaments in Table-Tennis, Carrom and Badminton, organized by the Campus Sports Committee of the University of Jammu at the Gymnasium Hall of the Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu, here.
In Badminton (Men), Dr. Sandeep Arya beat Rajesh Kumar by 2-0, Vishal Sudan defeated S. Gursharan Singh by 2-0, Prekshat Dev Singh outplayed Sanjeev Chadha by 2-0, S. Gagandeep Singh trounced Varun Sawhney by 2-0, Pawan Singh beat Jagdev Singh by 2-0, Vinay Manhas got the better of Aman Singh by 2-0, Abhinav Sharma outclassed S. Inderjeet Singh by 2-0 and Vikas Karlopia beat Deepak Anand by 2-0.
In Badminton (Women) semifinal, Dr. Madhulika Bhagat drubbed Sonika Sharma by 2-0 and Seema Rathore prevailed over Nidhi Gandral by 2-0.
Table Tennis (Men) semifinal, Prof PVK S Baba beat Rajesh Kumar by 2-0, Prof Rakesh Vaid defeated S. Haqrinder Pal Singh by 2-0.
In Carrom (Men), Deepak Anand outplayed S. Gagandeep Singh, Vishal Sharma defeated Sumeet Dogra, Niranjan Singh got the better of Rajesh Kumar, Naresh Sharma beat Dr Sandeep Arya and
Prof PVKS Baba drubbed Rajesh Kumar.
In Carrom (Women), Sunita Amla beat Dr Madhulika Bhagat.
The matches were officiated by Ravish Vaid, Gagan Kumar, Varun Gupta, Sanjeev Sharma, Ankit Sharma, Tarvinder Pal Singh, Jeevan Lal and Rishav Sharma.
The tournament was organized by Chairperson, Campus Sports Committee Prof Neeru Sharma and under the overall supervision of Dr Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education and In-charge PTI Campus, Raj Kumar Bakshi.
