JAMMU, Oct 11: Players displayed brilliant skill and talent to vie for the top honours in the Inter-Collegiate Volleyball (M), Table Tennis (M&W) and Kabaddi (M) Tournaments, being organised by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, here.
In Volleyball pre-quarter finals, GDC Hiranagar beat GDC Akhnoor by (2-0) sets, GDC Bhaderwah drubbed GDC Ramban by (2-0) sets, GDC Kathua trounced GDC Khour by (2-0) sets, PG Department beat GDC Reasi by (2-0) sets, GDC Samba outplayed GDC Paloura by (2-0) sets, GGM Science College beat MAM College by (2-0) sets, GDC RS Pura prevailed over GDC Gool by (2-0) sets and GDC Udhampur beat GDC Bishnah by (2-1) sets.
The quarterfinal matches of Inter-Collegiate Table Tennis Championship were played today at Gymnasium Hall, University of Jammu.
In women’s section, GCW Udhampur beat ASCOMS (3-2) and PG Department trounced GDC Udhampur (3-0), while in the men’s section, GCET outplayed GMC Jammu (3-1), MBS defeated YCET (3-2), GDC Udhampur beat SPMR Commerce (3-2) and PG Department beat GDC Ramnagar (3-2).
Meanwhile, in Inter-Collegiate Kabaddi Tournament, GDC Samba beat GDC Paloura by 16 points (38-22), GDC Hiranagar trounced GDC Khour by 20 points (57-37), GDC RS Pura beat GDC Khilotrain by 6 points (53-47), GDC Ramban prevailed over GDC Kathua by 2 points (27-25), PG Department defeated GDC Bhaderwah by 1 point (23-22), Govt MAM College drubbed Trikuta Degree College by 18 points (34-16), GDC Poonch beat GDC Thanamandi by 30 points (40-10) and GDC Rajouri trounced GDC Akhnoor by 4 point (25-21).
