Golden Jubilee celebrations of Lakshmi Narayan Temple conclude

JAMMU, Nov 25: The week-long Golden Jubilee celebrations of Shri Lakshmi Narayan Temple located at Gandhi Nagar and inauguration of Shree Yantra and Navghreh temple concluded here this evening with special ‘Aarti’ on the pattern of world famous ‘Ganga Aarti’.
Several functions were held in the temple premises with religious fervour and rituals. The celebrations were organized by Shri Lakshmi Narayan Management Trust. Hundreds of devotees and prominent citizens participated in the celebrations.
The special ‘Aarti’ was conducted by a renowned priest of Hari-Ki-Pouri, Haridwar. The half-an-hour ceremony left every participating devotee mesmerized and elated.
The day started with Ganesh Pooja. The nine beautiful idols of ‘Navghreh’ made of marble were installed with full religious rituals after Pooja-Archana. Simultaneously, hundreds of devotees participated in ‘Havan’ amidst chanting of verses form Holy Scriptures.
President of Shri Lakshmi Narayan Management Trust, Thakur Gulchain Singh Charak, led the ceremony. Shree Yantra made of nine metals including gold (asthdatu) weighing about four-and-a half quintals was installed in the centre of the new temple. Around this Shree Yantra are installed idols of nine planets (Navghreh) as per Vastu Shastra.
The historic temple has been tastefully decorated with a facelift befitting to the occasion. The shopkeepers around the Temple complex too have decorated their establishments suitably. A new marbled pathway has come up that has lent an added grandeur to the Temple complex.
After Pooja-Archana, a bandhara was also organized. This was the third bhandara organized during the week-long celebrations.
