Goenkans shine in International Karate C’ship

JAMMU, Oct 20: Three students of G D Goenka Public School Jammu, governed by Om Prakash Bansal Charitable Trust participated in the 5th International Karate Championship, organized by Shito-Ryu Karate School of India from October 10 to October 14, 2014 at Goa.
Six countries namely Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Malaysia and India participated in the Championship.
Vishesh Pandita of class X claimed gold medal in Kumite and bronze medal in Kata, while Rakshit Mehta of class V clinched silver medal in Kata and bronze in Kumite and Nouman Malik of class V bagged bronze medal in Kumite. The coach accompanying them was Abhijeet Singh Chib (Black Belt Ist Dan).
The Principal of the School, Dr R P Singh congratulated all the three students and their coach Abhijeet Singh Chib for their splendid performance in the International Championship.
The School Management lauded the achievement of the players.
