Glowing tributes paid to martyrs of 1947

JAMMU, Feb 3: Glowing tributes were paid to martyrs of 1947 Pak aggression who laid down their lives in Kashmir Valley while fighting the raiders at a function organized by Sanjeevani Sharda Kender Anandnagar Bohri near here today.
BJP State president, Jugal Kishore Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion while the RSS Sangchalak, Brig (retd) Suchet Singh and Dr K N Pandita were the guests of honour.
Paying rich tributes to the martyrs, Brig Suchet Singh said that Kashmir is the integral part of India and thousands of countrymen laid down their lives in fighting the Pak raiders in 1947 in the State.
He said deliberately confusion is being created about the J&K situation. The J&K is no problem but the problems lies within it.
Jugal Kishore Sharma who also paid tributes to martyrs of 1947 said that the peace loving community is away from their homeland for last 24 years now. He announced that BJP will continue its support to their demands in Legislature and Parliament.
Dr K N Pandita while recalling supreme sacrifices of Brig Rajinder Singh and other martyrs said there is history of sacrifices created by them. He regretted that a section of the press is not highlighting the sacrifices made by army.
Prof P N Trisal who presided over the function alleged that history is being distorted. He stressed the need that history be written in right perspective. He said it is saga of history that Raj Ram Pandita of Sangrampura in Budgam district of Kashmir Valley attained martyrdom in 1947 while his third generation attained martyrdom in 1990.
The speakers said about 200 Kashmiri Pandits and thousands of Sikhs laid down their lives in Valley during the Pak raiders invasion in 1947.
The welcome address was read by T N Pandita president of the Kendra while vote of thanks was proposed by Vinod Bhat.
