Global warming

Sir,
Every day, when rays of the sun reach earth, a group of gases called greenhouse gases absorb heat from the Sun’s rays and makes our planet warm enough for us to survive. But if the levels of these gases in the atmosphere increase, they will absorb more heat, making Earth too hot for us to live ! It is because of pollution, cutting down of trees and forests, burning fossil fuels like coal and petrol, etc. As the level of gases increases, these cause global warming. The ice in Polar region has already started melting, resulting in floods, rising sea levels, submergence of Islands and coastal areas. Warmer temperature has also triggered climate changes and the extinction of animals and plants species. Interestingly global warming is not having the same impact on all parts of the world. Some areas of our planet are warming faster than others. Western Siberia is heating up faster than most places in the world.
Every action of ours, right from switching on washing machines, electic stores, radio sets, music system computers to using refrigerators, adds upto global warming. Our every day actions have far reaching consequences. It determines whether life on Earth will flourish or perish. One thoughtful action or a simple change in our habit will go a long way towards, saving our planet.
