DGP visits police offices in Jammu

JAMMU, Nov 6: Director General of Police, Dilbag Singh today directed the officers to give priority to the cases of public importance while disposing of the crime cases.
He passed directions while chairing the meeting of officers at IGP Jammu Zone office. He impressed upon the prosecuting wing to follow the cases with vigour in the courts so that the conviction rate is increased. The DGP said that there is a need to identify the aptitudes of the officers particularly at the Sub-Inspector level so that they are put on the jobs according to their ability for optimizing various services particularly the technical.
Dilbag Singh directed officers to enhance the capabilities of man management to cater to the gray areas by strengthening districts. He said that proper man management will help in the mobilization of the nafri in shortest possible time and response to any crises will be prompt.
He also visited various sections of these offices. On this occasion a number of demands with regard to repairs, renovations etc. were brought into the notice of DGP. The DGP gave on spot orders for meeting these requirements.
The DGP also visited CID Headquarters and Crime Headquarters. At CID (Hqrs), the DGP was received by ADGP CID, Dr B Srinivas and by IGP Jammu, Dr SD Singh Jamwal, IGP Crime, S Ahfad-ul-Mujtaba and DIG JSK Range, Jammu, Bhim Sen Tuti at ZPHQ Jammu.
The DGP chaired meetings with the officers at their respective Headquarters and also inspected different sections of these offices. IGP Jammu and IGP Crime briefed the DGP regarding the working in functioning of their respective offices. All the Jammu based SSPs of CID, Staff Officers, SSP Jammu, SSP Traffic, SSP Crime and other GOs of these offices attended these meetings.
At CID (Hqrs), the ADGP CID and other officers briefed the DGP about the functioning of the CID and put forth some requirements. Addressing the officers the DGP said that the requirements with regard to equipment, infrastructure, mobility will be looked into. He also discussed with them other issues with regard to trainings and promotions. He said that all possible help will be provided to the unit to increase its efficiency.
