Girl murdered in Sainik Colony

JAMMU, Aug 29: A 19-year old girl was murdered on the intervening night of August 28 and 29 in Sainik Colony area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, the dead body of a girl identified as Susheela Kumari daughter of Subhash Chander, a resident of Chhattisgarh (at present Sainik Colony), had gone to bed last night in her temporary residence (Jhuggi) as usual, but was found missing in the morning.
When family members searched in the morning, her semi-naked body was found in a nearby vacant plot with strangulation marks on her neck. On getting information, a police team from police station Channi Himmat led by SHO Sajjad Haider reached the spot and shifted the dead body to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where a board of doctors conducted post mortem of the body. Later, the body was handed over to its legal heirs for last rites.
A case under relevant sections has been registered in this connection at police station Channi Himmat and further investigations started.
