Girl dies of electric shock; father-son injured in bear attack

RAMBAN, July 15: A minor girl died today due to electric shock in Rehban area in outskirts of Ramban town while a man and his son got injured in bear attack in Sanasar area of Batote.
According to a police spokesman, a girl identified as Anmol Devi (14) daughter of Raj Singh, resident of Rehban, Ward No 1, Ramban, was killed on the spot while she came in contact with a live wire while repairing an electric (cooking) heater at her neighbour’s house.
He said that the body of the deceased girl was shifted to District Hospital Ramban for conducting postmortem while inquest proceedings under Section 174 CrPC were initiated by Ramban police.
Meanwhile, two persons were injured in bear attack in Sansaar area falling under Batote police station. The injured were identified as Krishan Lal son of Balia, resident of Sanasar and his son, Madan Lal. Both of them were shifted to a nearby hospital, where after providing first aid they were referred to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu. They were attacked by the wild bear when they were working in their field at Sanasar.
