GHSS Gharota beats GHSS Domana, lifts Kho-Kho title; GGHSS Akhnoor clinches Volleyball trophy

JAMMU, Sept 1: Inter School, Zonal and District Level Competitions in various disciplines, being organized by Department of Youth Services and Sports, were played at different venues.
JAMMU: Inter School Zonal Level Tournament in the discipline of Kabaddi, Kho-Kho and Volleyball of Bhalwal and Marh Zone were played at GHSS Domana.
In Kho-Kho final, GHSS Gharota beat GHSS Domana by 5 points, whereas in Kabaddi final, Vishwa Bharati Public School defeated GHSS Domana by 25 points. In Volleyball final, GHSS Jhiri emerged winner by smashing APS Domana by 2-0 sets.
Inter School Zonal Level Tourney in the discipline of Kho-Kho, Kabaddi and Volleyball for under-19 boys was played at GHSS Canal Road.
In Kho-Kho, GHSS Sarwal registered win over GHSS Dansal.
In Kabaddi, DBN Talab Tillo beat GHSS Sarwal, Hari Singh HSS defeated GHSS Kathar Manwal, GHSS Jhullaka Mohalla smashed Central Basic Higher Secondary School, DBN Talab Tillo beat GHSS Paloura, GHSS Dansal defeated GHSS Jandrah and Model Academy crushed GHSS Nowabad.
In Volleyball, GHSS Muthi smashed KC International, SRML defeated GHSS Sarwal, SOS smashed Hari Singh HSS, GHSS Kathar Manwal beat GHSS Dansal, DPS crushed GHSS Nowabad, KC Public School outplayed Model Academy and GHSS Jandrah beat GHSS Jhajjar Kotli.
Inter School Zonal Level Competitions in the disciplines of Kho-Kho, Kabaddi and Volleyball for under-19 boys and girls were played at Government Higher Secondary School, Akhnoor.
In Kabaddi final (boys), GHSS Chowki Choura emerged winner by crushing GBHSS Akhnoor, whereas in Kho-Kho final, GBHSS Akhnoor emerged winner and in Volleyball, GBHSS Akhnoor beat GHSS Sohal and lifted title trophy.
In Kabaddi final (girls), GHSS Akhnoor beat GGHSS Narran Bala, whereas in Kho-Kho final, GGHSS Akhnoor smashed St Francis HSS Akhnoor and in Volleyball final, GGHSS Akhnoor emerged winner by crushing GGHSS Sohal.
SAMBA: Inter District Division Level Basketball Tournament was played at Kristu Jyoti Convent School, here today. In under-14 boys, Jammu smashed Udhampur by 10-04 points, whereas in under-17, Jammu crushed Kathua and in under-19, Jammu outplayed Udhampur.

In under-19 boys final, Ravi Kumar of Jammu trounced Rish Paul Singh of Reasi in below 42 kg category, whereas in below 46 kg, Ravinder Paul of Reasi trounced Rakesh Sharma of Jammu, in below 50 kg, Aman Sandhu of Jammu thrashed Sandeep Singh of Samba, in 55 kg, Gagandeep Rumbal of Jammu smashed Bagh Hussain of Kathua, in 60 kg, Chander Dev of Reasi crushed Sewa Ram of Doda, in 66 kg, Shakeel Ahmed of Udhampur trounced Lovely Sharma of Kathua, in 74 kg, Sandeep Singh of Jammu beat Akhil of Kathua, in 84 kg, Ankush Sharma of Jammu smashed Keshav Sharma of Kathua and in 96 kg, Surinder Singh of Jammu thrashed Rohit Kumar of Samba.
POONCH: Inter District Division Level Hockey Tournament in All Age Group commenced at sports stadium, here today. In the first match played between Poonch and Rajouri, the former registered win by 6-0 goals. Vishal and Gunpreet netted two goals each, while Manpreet and Tusher scored one goal each. In the second match, Kathua registered win over Rajouri by solitary goal, which was netted by Mohit Kumar.
