Ghagwal police rescues 13 bovine animals, arrests driver

SAMBA, Jan 28: In continuation to its drive against bovine smuggling, Ghagwal police foiled bovine smuggling attempt this morningby rescuing 13 bovine animals.
A  police party headed by SI Rajeshwar Singh, SHO Police Station, Ghagwal on the basis of information laid a naka at Tapyal.  It signalled a truck bearing registration number JK02W/2867 to stop but driver of vehicle instead of stopping accelerated the speed of his vehicle and tried to escape.
The alert police party chased them and intercepted vehicle after a short chase. On checking police party found 13 bovines laden in it and they were tied with ropes mercilessly. The driver of truck namely Altaf S/o Bashir Ahmed of Triath district Reasi was arrested on spot.
In this connection case FIR No.18/2018 U/S 188 RPC,2/3 PAC Act,179,183 MV Act was registered and investigation started . Whole operation was conducted under the direction of SSP Samba Anil Magotra and close supervision of DYSP Hqtr,  Deepak Digra.
