Ghagwal police rescues 12 bovine animals

SAMBA, Nov 8: Ghagwal Police foiled a bovine smuggling bid and rescued 12 animals this morning during checking at Tapyal Naka.
As per reports a police party of Police Station, Ghagwal headed by S I Rajeshwar Singh, SHO Ghagwal under close supervision of Tanveer Ahmed, Dy.SP Hqrs Samba, during vehicle checking at Naka Tapyal signaled a truck bearing registration number JK02AH-6515 to stop which was coming from Kathua side. On seeing Police Party, the driver tried to flee after accelerating the vehicle but the police chased the truck and the driver was forced to abandoned the vehicle at a distance of few meters after crossing the Naka and escaped from the spot.
During the checking of the vehicle, 12 bovines were found laden inside the vehicle which were being transported illegally. The vehicle and the bovine animals were seized and a case FIR No. 98/2017 U/S 188/RPC, 2/3 PCA Act, 184/MV Act has been registered at P/S Ghagwal. Further investigation is going on to nab the driver.
The drive was launched on the directives of SSP Samba Anil Magotra.
