General Line Teachers resent transfer of ReTs against their posts

UDHAMPUR, Nov 28: A monthly meeting of Jammu Kashmir General Line Teachers Forum was held  here today under the chairmanship of State general  secretary  Rakesh Singh   to discuss the burning issues of  Genera Line Teachers .
The  meet justified revocation of the suspension of the Deputy Chief Education Officer  of Kishtwar and said that it is within the jurisdiction of  the concerned higher education officers to utilize  the services of the teachers  wherever they deem necessary  for the smooth functioning of the schools  as per the guidelines of the  SSA  scheme  and the Right to Education Act.
While addressing the Forum members, Rakesh Singh said that the Government  order number 469 is totally against the spirit and basic objective of the SSA scheme.    “The selection criteria   and the mechanism of distribution of salary of General Line Teachers and ReT teachers is entirely different and due to this,  there is need to separate the two posts in term of transfer  to prevent the chaos and confusion  in the Education Department,”  he explained.
