JAMMU, Jan 31: General line teachers have decided to launch protest if Education Department failed to adjust the teachers, who were promoted as teachers in DPC held in February 2014.
Addressing a press conference, President, General Line Teachers Forum Neeraj Sharma said that the issue of adjustment of teachers promoted to masters in DPC held in February 2014 has been delayed by the Education Department for about 3 years due to the reasons best known to the higher-ups in the department.
After lapse of 3 years, the department is not taking final decision on the adjustment of these promotes, he said, adding that out of this promotion list, 165 teachers used their influence and get themselves adjusted and are enjoying the perks and benefits of master grade, whereas others are still running from pillar to post for their adjustment.
He said that the claims regarding the reforms in the education system seems nothing as still the oul corrupt practice prevails in the department.
Neeraj Sharma said that during the past three years, thousands of transfers have been made by the department, but it is very unfortunate that this promotion list is hanging in balance due to the negligence of the authorities.
“If the department failed to adjust these promotes as soon as possible, then we will launch protest and for any untoward incident, the authorities will be responsible”, he warned.
Mrignayani Slathia, President, Women Wing said that 7 Directors of School Education Jammu had come and gone, but they did nothing about this. “From the past three months, many assurances have been given by the incumbent Director but nothing has happened”, she said, adding that this attitude of the Government and the Department is raising anguish among the teaching community and also demoralizing them.
“What is the reason to delay the promotion as 3000 posts of masters are lying vacant and the students are suffering for want of adequate staff especially masters”, Slathia questioned.
Among others present were Digvijay Singh, District President, Vijay, Upasana and Amit.
