JAMMU, Oct 15: GDC Hiranagar outplayed GGM Science College in a close contested final match by (3-2) sets in the ongoing Inter Collegiate Volleyball (Men) Tournament 2018-19organized by the Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu at University Volleyball Courts.

Sharma were the star performers from GDC Hiranagar whereas Chetan Manhas and Pankaj Sharma also played well for the losers. GDC Hiranagar took the lead and convert it in a successful victory. The set scores were (22-25), (25-16), (17-25), (25-11) and (15-10).
Earlier in Ist semifinal GDC Hiranagar outplayed GDC Kathua by (3-1) sets whereas in 2nd semifinal GGM Science College trounced GDC, Udhampur in a close contested match by (3-2) sets.
Prof. Dipanker Sen Gupta, Dean Placement, University of Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion.
The final match was officiated by Manik Nargotra, S. Amarjit Singh, Naresh Kumar and Amit Sharma.
Meanwhile, Inter-Collegiate Cricket (Men/Women) Tournament 2018-19 began at Sports Ground of Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu.
Dr Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu alongwith Raj Kumar Bakshi, Cricket Coach, Ravish Vaid, Gagan Kumar and Vikas Karlopia were present during the opening match.
In the first (Men) match, Dental College Sehora beat Govt Degree College Hiranagar by 8 wickets.
