Ganga inaugurates road upgradation work

SAMBA, Oct 21: Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Prakash Ganga today inaugurated upgradation work for road from Birpur to Khada Maidana being executed by PWD.
The 6 km road will be taken up under the City and Town Roads Scheme at an estimated cost of Rs. 1.60 crore.
The Minister while speaking on the occasion reiterated the commitment of the Government to improve rural road connectivity for economic upliftment and generating employment at the village level. He said that a comprehensive plan to improve road connectivity is underway in the entire State which will help in equitable development and giving a boost to the tourism sector. He called upon the concerned agencies to complete the works within the fixed timelines while strictly adhering to the quality standards.
The Minister was accompanied by Vice Chairperson OBC Advisory Board, Rashpaul Verma, MLA Samba, Devinder Manyal, XEn PWD K.S Nathyal and AEE Rajesh Sumbaria.
Meanwhile, Chander Prakash unveiled a statue of late Dy. SP Kuldeep Raj Sharma at Purmandal.
The officer had attained martyrdom while fighting with terrorists at Kothibagh , Srinagar in the year 2000.
Recalling the supreme sacrifices of security forces, the Minister said that they are always ready to sacrifice their lives for upholding the sovereignty and integrity of the country.
MLA Samba on the occasion announced upgradation of the memorial of late Kuldeep Raj Sharma.
Vice Chairman Advisory Board for Backward Classes, Rashpaul Verma, MLA Samba, Dr D K Manyal, IGP Jammu Danish Rana, DDC Samba Sheetal Nanda, SSP Samba Joginder Singh besides other police and civil officers were also present on the occasion.
