SAMBA, May 29: Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga today inaugurated the Mata Amar Dai Rotary Day Care-cum-Eye Hospital at Chandan Nagar, Rahya Morh in Vijaypur.
As part of the inaugural ceremony, free OPD services were organised and Ophthalmologist, Orthopedic, Gynecologist and Physician were made available to the general public. Free medicines were also distributed among the public.
The initiative for this hospital and OPD has been taken by the Rotary Club Jammu which will be functional daily for the people.
Speaking on the occasion, Ganga congratulated the Rotary organization and its members for bringing this hospital with necessary services to the people of the area. He assured the people that possibilities will be explored to provide an ambulance to this hospital.
Ganga said that Government is constantly working towards development of the area and aims to change the face of the villages.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashok Kumar Gupta, president of the Rotary Club Jammu Tawi lauded contribution of Chandan family for donation of land for hospital and efforts of all Rotary Club members especially Gurdeep Singh, Harish Gulati, Sunil Jain and Dr Dushyant Choudhary. He said real challenge is in running the charity hospital for which club chose him as chairman of the hospital trust.
Also present on the occasion were SSP Samba Joginder Singh, Chairman Rotary Club Ashok Gupta, Co-Chairman Dr Dushyant Chowdhary and other members of the Club.
Later, the Minister inaugurated the improvement and upgradation of 8 km stretch from 17 miles to Badwal. The project estimated at Rs. 4 crore is being executed by the PWD(R&B) under NABARD. The project also includes widening of road from the existing 3m width to 5.50m width. This stretch of road will connect the areas of Rajinder Singh Pura, Badwal, Salmeri, Sangwal, Gapwal and Pekhri to the national highway.
Another project for 2 km stretch of road from Swankha to Chang and 3 km Channi Swankha Road was also kick started by the Minister. Estimated at the cost of Rs 60 lakh and Rs 180 lakh respectively, the project is being executed under the City Macmadisation Programme.
Ganga directed the officials to have close check on the quality of works and ensure timely completion of the works.
