Ganga convenes public darbar

JAMMU, Feb 18: Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga held public darbar at Datta Talab.
People apprised him about unscheduled power cuts, less availability of ration, providing of drinking water facilities and other developmental issues. Besides that unemployed youth of the area urged upon the Minister to formulate a policy to attract the private sector for adjustment of unemployed youth in the industries and manufacturing units.
Ganga heard the grievances patiently and assured that whatever has been brought into his notice will be taken up with the concerned authorities for appropriate action. He also issued on spot directions to the concerned for the redressal of genuine demands of the people.
Speaking on this occasion, the Minister said that Government has provided a platform to the general public for direct interaction with Ministers so the woes of the people are raised at highest level and mitigated.
He said that Government is laying emphasis on improving road network by linking internal roads with National Highways to give a further fillip to development activities in the State. “Government is ensuring liberal funding under several State and Centrally sponsored schemes to ensure overall development of the State”, he added.
The Minister asserted that durable roads and enhanced infrastructure tops the development agenda of the present dispensation and focus is being laid on upgrading and improving the road network in rural and remote areas. He said that the Government has laid full focus on development of infrastructure and providing better civic amenities to the people.
