Ganesh Vihar residents’ concern over increasing thefts

JAMMU, Feb 23: Welfare Committee members of Ganesh Vihar Surya Vanshi Nagar extension Muthi in a meeting here today held under the chairmanship of Soom Nath Pandita grave concern was expressed over the increasing thefts in the area.
The meeting said that panic has gripped the locality after the burglars decamped with Dhaan Pattar (Cash box) of Ganesh temple in the area as few days back the burglars had decamped with cash and jewellery from a residential house after breaking the locks of the house.
The meeting said that the min cause of increasing thefts in the area was failure of authorities to electrify the lanes in the colony.
In an appeal the Committee has urged the Municipal authorities to install street lights in the area. It also urged the Police Department to recover the thefts and arrest the burglars so that such incidents don’t take place in future.
Meanwhile ASKPC president H L Chatta has also expressed grave concern over the burglaries which took place in various temples and urged the police authorities to maintain a proper vigil and arrest the culprits.
He also urged the Police authorities to intensify the vigil especially round the temple premises.
