Gandoh, Thathri residents badly hit by water scarcity

DODA, Jan 7: Accusing the Public Health Engineering Department for ignoring their plights, the residents of several villages of Sub Division Gandoh and Sub Division Thathri have demanded immediate redressal of their genuine grievances.
People of several villages including Manoo, Hadal, Chilly, Binoon, Bunjwah, Patnazie, Gandoh, Gowarie, Thathri, Donadie, Kahara, Batrie, Changa and other adjoining villages alleged that they face tremendous hardships due to acute shortage of water supply from last one month.
Villagers said that they staged protests several times against the authorities for not providing safe drinking water but unfortunately that too went into deaf ears. “Despite repeated requests neither the concerned department nor the administration bothered to sort our hardship”, they further alleged.
“We are forced to cover a distance of almost a kilometre to fetch drinking water from tube wells for cooking and drinking”, one of the villagers said and added that if the authorities fail to restore the water supply at the earliest, they will have to resort to a mass agitation against the authorities.
