JAMMU, Feb 4: M.L.A R.S Pura Dr.Gagan Bhagat today kick-started several developmental works in R.S Pura Constituency .At Ward No.9, near Nice Computers he started construction of lane & drain.
He also organized a public darbar was organized at village Gagian, in which officers from sub-district administration was present including Tehsildaar R.S Pura Sohan Rana, B.D.O R.S Pura, Sanchi Mishra, E.O R.S Pura Jodhraj, S.H.O Bhushan Manhas ,A.E.E P.H.E Ashok Bhatti along with several other officers were present. People from the camp along with their grievances demanded immediate redressal of the same.
Many of them were rectified on the spot, after the function by the MLA.
Dr Bhagat took a round of the area and met with the locals who apprised him of various problems later. The Lane and drainage system was the longest pending demand of the locals. The MLA while addressing the gathering said that, he will surely keep his poll promises, the total length of the lane was 150 meters, and in the rainy season it was virtually impossible to pass through the lane.
About the demand regarding construction of other lanes and drains of the area Dr.Gagan said that he will try to get sanctioned those from the Rural Development Department under the Convergence Scheme in the coming days. He further added that the developmental works which received a small brake, due to the Budget Session of the Assembly has been started again.
Dr.Gagan said that the Union Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narender Modi is committed to provide all basic amenities to the people especially to the people of the rural area including health, drinking water, road connectivity, electricity, better drainage system and education, and the Union Government has been providing liberal funding , and in this budget session Rs. 48,000 Crore have been kept for the Rural Development Department so that rural areas get focused attention which was completely ignored by the previous successive regimes in the Centre.
Later Dr Bhagat also visited Village Gagian and inaugurated a lane & drain , which was constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 5.00 Lakhs.
