Furniture donated by Army missing from Govt schools

MENDHAR, Jan 22: Furniture and computers donated by Army under Project Sadhbhavna is missing from several Government schools.
Sub Divisional Magistrate Mendhar, Romesh Kumar directed Tehsildar Mendhar to hold inquiry and submit report after some complaints were lodged by Sarpanchs of  a few villages in tehsil Mandhar on Tuesday.
Panchayat members from Upper Gohlad alleged that furniture donated by Army in the recent past including two computers, 10 plastic chairs, five tables, 30 desks were missing from the schools. Most of the items have reached in the houses of the teachers while children have been deprived of the benefit of these items.
In yet another school  in Gohlad four computers, plastic chairs, tables and many desks were missing. The students of Gohlad school alognwith parents also lodged their protest with the SDM and submitted a memorandum. They also demanded inquiry into the mid day meals as the same was not being provided to the children since long and the incharge Mid Day meals /headmaster  of the school had been attached to the ZEO office since long.
The SDM assured the Panchayat members and parents of the students that he will hold inquiry into the matter and recommend action against the erring teachers. He said such complaints have also been received from various other schools regarding missing of donated items and action under law will be taken against the teachers and heads of these schools.
