SRINAGAR, Jan 11: Kashmir valley received light snowfall last night disrupting traffic on the National Highway while the Weatherman has forecast snowfall tomorrow.
Director Meteorological department (MeT), Sonum Lotus said here that there is possibility of rains and snowfall for the next two days and the higher reaches of the Valley would experience light snowfall during the night.

Lotus added that the Valley received fresh snowfall last night while some of the places received 5 inches of snowfall as well. He said that the Valley would receive light snowfall tomorrow again while as the weather conditions would improve from January 13 (Sunday) afternoon.
He also said that the Department is predicting an adequate snowfall this month, saying that there is possibility of snowfall in between January 19-20 as well.
Superintendent of Police Traffic, Muaffar Ahmad Shah, said that the overnight light snowfall led to disruption of traffic on the National Highway and large numbers of trucks were stranded on it. However, in the morning stranded trucks were cleared first.
He said the fresh traffic was allowed to ply from Srinagar to Jammu after 2 pm. He added that over 800 Light Mortar Vehicles crossed towards Jammu and by evening over 700 trucks were allowed to cross the tunnel.
