Fresh batches of yatris leave for Amarnath cave, 18,321 pay obeisance

SRINAGAR:More than 18,300 pilgrims had darshan of the self made Ice-Shivlingam during the first two days at the holy Amarnath in south Kashmir Himalayas as fresh batches of yatris left Baltal and Nunwan Pahalgam base camp for the cave shrine early this morning.
The yatra was going on smoothly and the weather was pleasant, a Yatra Control Room (YCR) told.    He said fresh batches of pilgrims, including women and sadhus, left for the holy Cave from Baltal and Nunwan Pahalgam base camps early this morning.
However, since pilgrims were still coming and gate were also open, the exact number of pilgrims moving towards the cave shrine from both base camps will be known later in the day, he said.
The official said during the first two days of 59 day-long pilgrimage, which commenced from July 2, 18,321 pilgrims, including women, sadhus and children paid obeisance. (AGENCIES)
