Freight rates fall on excess position of trucks

NEW DELHI, Feb 4:  Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section dropped by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today following heavy position of trucks in the markets against cargo movements.
Transporters said ample position of trucks against restricted cargo movements, mainly pulled down freight rates for select destinations.
Delhi to Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Coimbatore and Goa freight rates moved down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 79,000, Rs 86,000, Rs 76,000 and Rs 56,000.
Rates to Indore, Kolkata and Pune were also down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 22,000, Rs 32,000 and Rs 31,000.
