Freight rates decline on tight movements of cargo

NEW DELHI, Jan 27: Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section enquired lower by Rs 1,000 at the local truck transport market in the national capital today on insufficient movements of cargo amid excess position of trucks.
Transporters said apart from easy availability of trucks, restricted movements of cargo mainly pulled down freight raters for select destinations.
Delhi to Thiruvananthapufra, Chennai and Mysore freight rates went down by Rs 1000 each to Rs 81,000, Rs 62,000 and Rs 64,000.
Rates to Vijayawada, Guwahati, Kolkata and Mumbai freight rates also moved down by Rs 1000 each to Rs 57,000, Rs 58,000, Rs 3,1000 and Rs 26,000.
