Freight rate falls on excess position of trucks

NEW DELHI, Apr 26:  Freight rates for ten-tonne load section declined by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today following restricted cargo movements against heavy position of trucks.
Transporters said less arrivals of cargo along with large availability of trucks in the markets mainly pulled down some of centres freight rates.
Delhi to Bangalore, Chennai and Vijaywada rates moved down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 66,000, Rs 68,000 and Rs 62,000.
Rates to Pondicherry, Kochi and Guwahati rates also went down by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 70,000, Rs 75,000 and Rs 54,000.
