Free WiFi, baby stroller facilities inaugurated at Jammu Airport

JAMMU, May 21: Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation, RN Choubey inaugurated free WiFi and baby stroller facilities to be used by passengers at Jammu Airport.
Choubey also carried out a comprehensive review of passenger facilities and operational preparedness of Jammu Airport to handle the passenger traffic while providing airport facilities at par with other major airports in India.
A special emphasis was given for creation of airport infrastructure for meeting the future passenger requirements and directed Jammu Airport officials to draw out plans accordingly for development of new civil air terminal on Belicharana side.
DK Gautam, Airport Director apprised about the remarkable growth in passenger traffic and aircraft movement at 25 per cent and 30 per cent respectively during the year 2017-18.
He further informed that runway extension work is going to commence by the month of June 2018 and upon completion, this will further boost the passenger traffic growth and aircraft movement remarkably.
Choubey said that a tremendous improvements in the facilities and infrastructure of Jammu airport during last three years has been seen, which will bring Jammu Airport at par with contemporary airports in the country.
