JAMMU, Feb 23: Bee Enn General Hospital Talab Tillo Jammu is conducting free of cost surgeries for the children born with cleft lip and palate deformity.
This was informed to media persons by Kunil Bhalla from the Bee Enn Charitable Trust, which is helping the hospital in conducting surgeries.
“We made a beginning yesterday by operating on one patient and want to continue it for life,” he said adding that all the surgeries, for cleft lip to cleft palate and correction of deformities on teeth, are available free of cost at Bee Enn general Hospital in association with Smile Train India.
Renowned Plastic Surgeon Dr Shabir Iqbal, who was also present in the press conference, announced that he would be personally visiting Jammu twice or thrice to operate these patients. “I would also like to train surgeons who are eager to help this social mission,” he added.
Dr Shabir informed that the children born with cleft lip and palate deformities are hundred percent curable, that too free of cost from many institutions like Bee Enn General Hospital.
He also elaborated on the surgeries involved for operating the cleft lip, cleft palate, deformities on teeth and said that the age of three to four months, after nine months and 14 to 16 years, respectively of the patient, was suitable for the same.
