Free health check-up & vaccination camp held

REASI, Jan 31: A free health check-up and vaccination camp for horses was held in village Undiyan at Shiv Khori for equines by Save Animals Value Environment (SAVE) in coordination with Sahyog/Brook India.
In this camp, Bajarwal community horses were given free treatment after getting six clinical parameters, free de-worming and free TT vaccination done.
Anti-rabies vaccination was provided free of cost for the equines by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Reasi Ravinder Kumar.
Dr Himanshi from Brook India made the equines owners aware about the importance of early treatment of some common ailments to avoid long term damage to the animal.
He laid stress on importance of medicine/treatment in emergency and vaccination, importance of de-worming, heat stress, lameness symptoms cause and prevention, prevention and control of glanders and importance of hair-clipping.
On the occasion, de-worming and vaccination cards were issued by SAVE to the owners of equines. They were advised to follow the vaccination and de-worming schedule for the benefit of the horses working for them.
The importance of good food and rest for the equine in between trips to the shrine were also explained to the equines owners.
