Four thieves arrested, stolen gold ornaments recovered

JAMMU, Dec 27: Police arrested four thieves and recovered stolen gold ornaments worth over Rs 5 lakh.
As per police sources, during the past one year, various burglary cases were reported in Police Station Kathua and looking into the sensitivity of the crime, a Special Investigating Team (SIT) comprising of SS Sambyal, DySP Headquarters Kathua, Inspector Anil Sharma, SHO Police Station Kathua and SI Varinder Singh, Incharge Hatli Morh Kathua was constituted.
The SIT worked hard and gathered some clues about the criminals committing burglary. Initially, the team arrested one person identified as Darvinder Kumar, son of Jatri Parshad of Uttar Pradesh, at present Ward Number 14 Kathua and was subjected to sustained questioning, who ultimately broke down and disclosed the names of his three associates identified as Mohammad Javed, son of Gulzar Ahmed of Batara Tehsil Basohli, Talib Hussain, son of Abdul Hamid of Lohai Malhar and Shakur Ahmed, son of Mohammad Ayoub of Malhar.
Acting swiftly, police teams fanned into different locations and arrested all the three burglars. They were put to sustained interrogations, who confessed the crime committed by them.
On their disclosure, the SIT recovered 178 grams stolen gold ornaments worth Rs 5,34000.
With their arrest, police team solved four cases registered under FIR Numbers 32/17, 121/17, 159/17 and 263/17 registered with Police Station Kathua.
The whole operation was carried out under the supervision of Sanjay Parihar, Additional SP Kathua and Mohammad Suleman Choudhary, SSP Kathua.
