Four shops gutted in Kishtwar inferno

JAMMU: At least four shops were gutted in a devastating fire that broke out in a remote belt of hilly Kishtwar district.

“A mysterious fire broke out late this evening in village Mulchetar of tehsil Chatroo of Kishtwar in which four shops were completely gutted,” Sandeep Wazir, SSP Kishtwar told reporters.

The top district cop said that the shops were located close to a residential locality but locals and police rushed to the spot following which fire tenders were also pressed into service.

“The flames were timely doused and prevented from spreading to nearby houses but the shops turned into ashes,” he added. The matter is being investigated, said the district police head. (AGENCIES)
