Four events held on Day-3 of JU’s Display Your Talent

JAMMU, Sept 21: Four events namely Classical Vocal, Semi Classical Vocal, Classical Instrumental Percussion and Classical Instrumental Non-Percussion were conducted on the third day of the ongoing ‘Display Your Talent 2017-18’ organized by the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu, here.
Dean Students Welfare, Prof Satnam Kour, Assistant Deans (SW), Dr Parmil Kumar and Dr AR Manhas, faculty members, teachers from colleges, students and scholars of the University of Jammu were present during the events.
In Classical Vocal, 14 students participated in which Saharsh Talwar from Institute of Music and Fine Arts was declared first. The second position was shared by Vanshika Jaral from GCW Parade, Suraj Dogra from GDC Udhampur and Kulmekh Singh from Institute of Music and Fine Arts, while the third position was shared by Vishakha Bhardwaj from GCW Gandhi Nagar, Apoorva Amla from MIET and Tania Sharma from GDC Hira Nagar.
The Certificates of Merit were awarded to Sunandani Jamwal from MIET, Nandani Kapoor from GCW Parade and Shivani Misri from The Law School, JU. Om Parkash Thappar, Ajay Chaorasia and Ashutosh Mangotra were the Judges and Dr. Meghna Dhar was the Teacher In-Charge for the event.
In Semi-Classical event, Karuna Majotra from Institute of Music and Fine Arts was declared First. Suraj Dogra from GDC, Udhampur and Vishakha Bhardwaj from GCW, Gandhi Nagar stood Second & Third position was shared by Vanshika Jaral from GCW Parade and Saharsh Talwar from Institute of Music and Fine Arts. Certificates of Merit were awarded to Tania Sharma from GDC Hira Nagar and Vishawa Gandharav from the Deptt. of Law, JU.
In Classical Instrumental Percussion and Non-Percussion, the first position was shared by Prabhat Bali and Chanchal Bhat from Institute of Music and Fine Arts, The second prize was awarded to Vibha Bharti from GCW, Gandhi Nagar and Khushpal from IMFA and the third position was shared by Neesa Devi from GCW Gandhi Nagar and Reva from GCW Udhampur.
The events were coordinated by Mr. Sumeet Sharma (Drama Instructor). Anjali Sharma, Manreet Kour, Kanika Sharma, Bharti Heer, Pawan, Mohd. Yaser, Aarti, Muneeb Tariq and Sona Sharma members of Students Culture Council did the Hall Management. The sound was operated by Kulbhushan Thakur.
