JAMMU, Sept 22: The eighth day of ongoing ‘Display Your Talent-2018-19’ organized by the Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu was dedicated to four events; Quiz, Painting, Photography and Flower Arrangement.
Dean Students Welfare, Prof Parmeshwari Sharma congratulated and felicitated the winners of the events on the occasion.
Dr Anil Gupta was the Quiz Master.
In the event, 30 teams participated and the teams which qualified for Finals were from GDC Akhnoor, Department of English, Department of Sociology, Ram Nagar, GDC, Kathua and GDC Samba.
In finals, the team consisting of Bharti Jasrotia, Mamik Singh and Nirbhay Singh from GDC, Kathua stood First, Niraj Kumar, Koushal Kumar and Ritu Devi from GDC Akhnoor stood Second and Nikita Sambyal, Shavi Gupta and Saksham Kumar from GDC, Samba stood Third.
In Painting, the topics given to the candidates were ‘Urban Street, ‘Scene of a Restaurant’ and ‘Folk Dance’. Sheetal Kumari from Institute of Music and Fine Arts, Shivika Luthra from The Law School and Skarma Sonam Tashi from IMFA stood First, Second and Third respectively. Certificates of Merit were awarded to Hameera Tak & Karnika Rajput both from GCW, Parade & Meenakshi Thakur from GCW, Gandhi Nagar. Sh Vijay Anand, Mr. Al Nasir and Ms. Reecha Gupta were the adjudicators of the event.
In Photography, the topics given to the candidates were ‘Raindrops’ & ‘Reflections’ in which Abhinav Behal from Institute of Music and Fine Arts, Amogh Gupta from The Business School and Suhaib Salman from The Law School stood First, Second and Third respectively. Certificates of Merit were awarded to Varun Sharma from GDC Reasi and Shivam Gupta from SPMR College. Sh. Chander Sunder, Dr. RajKumar and Mr. Amarjeet were the adjudicators and Dr. Harish Chander was the teacher incharge of the event.
In Flower Arrangement, Mehak Mahajan from Department of Commerce, Chandani Sharma form MIET, Bansuri Kalra from KC Law College stood First, Second and Third respectively. The Certificate of Merit was awarded to Seema Devi from GDC Kathua. Dr. Raj Kumar, Al Nasir and Prof RN Gohil were the adjudicators and Dr Meghna Dhar was the Teacher Incharge of the event.
The events were coordinated by Sumeet Sharma (Drama Instructor) and Ifra Kak (Cultural Officer).
Rajat Salgotra, Sunny Singh, Parveen Kumar, Saloni Verma, Sania Mahajan, Seema Kumari, Anup Singh, Guneet Singh, Bharti Slathia and Shumalini managed the events.
Essay Writing, Short Story Writing, Sketching and Poster Making competitions will be conducted at different venues in University of Jammu tomorrow.
