JAMMU, Jan 23: Four day long 59th Annual NASA Convention was held at Jaipur.
The National Association of Students of Architecture, commonly referred to as NASA India, is one of the largest Architectural Student Organiza-tions in the world with student participants from more than two hundred institutions all over India and countries around the world.
NASA India provides a platform for architecture students to learn and interact, engaging them directly and indirectly through both online and offline platforms. NASA India conducts events, conventions, seminars, workshops, design competitions and trophies at both national and zonal levels.
Parallel Projections, the theme of 59th Annual NASA Convention, merely played the gateway to the inventory of the parts of one’s envisionment getting lost along the process of it being implemented. The convention was a prodigious event inviting Architecture Schools from India and abroad to participate, adding to its charisma. A Parallel Projection has a unique capacity of levelling the human eye and its perspective. It levels all indentations to a singular surface, to the extent that it denies the perception of actual form, space and reality. It corresponds to a projection with infinite focal length.
This four-day-long event, hosted by School of Planning and Architecture, Poornima University, Jaipur, was attended by around 4,000 student delegates.
27 B Arch students of Department of Architecture and Landscape Design, SMVDU Katra participated in the 59th Annual NASA Convention this year. The students participated in various workshops divided into broader categories viz. computational based, art based, skill based and community based.
Eminent experts from all over the country conducted the workshops and gave hands on experience for the related subjects to the participants.
The aim of these workshops was to harness new skills and techniques in the participants to enhance their abilities as an architect. It gave basic understanding of the topics and gave a scope to the students to explore their strengths in various genres.
