Forum highlights demands, issues of Plus 2 Lecturers

UDHAMPUR, Dec 18: The monthly meeting of the district Udhampur unit of All J&K Plus 2 Lecturers’ Forum was held under the chairmanship of Ashok Sharma, District president of the Forum.
In the meeting, the speakers expressed concern over the existence of large number of vacancies of different cadres of the teaching and non teaching staff in various schools falling in rural areas and demanded that these vacancies be filled up at the earliest. They rued that with such a large no of vacancies and attachments of a large number of teachers in various offices and schools in or around cities and towns, the academic activities are being affected in under staffed schools.
They urged the Minister for Education to intervene and ensure that all attachments are cancelled and adequate academic staff is posted in schools in rural and hilly areas. They also demanded strict implementation of Transfer Policy and conduct of trainings during summer/winter breaks only.
They also flayed the JKBOSE for conducting the Terminal Exams of HSP-1 at a time when there is freezing cold, especially in schools falling in winter zone. They demanded that these exams be conducted in ending November or first week of December every year. They demanded the clearance of pending bills of the Superintendents and other staff engaged in the Annual exams of 12th Summer zone bi annual
The Forum also demanded rationalisation of staff in the schools in accordance with the roll of students of schools. They said that many lecturers have been serving in schools where there are no students of their discipline and demanded suitable adjustment of such lecturers in schools where there are students of that subject.
The lecturers in Physical Education present in the meet demanded their regularisation and refixation of their pay to bring them at par with lecturers in other disciplines.
Among those, who addressed the meeting, included Arunesh Kumar, Ram Murti, Ashwani Kumar, Mohan Lal Sharma, Luxmi Kant, Amrit Lal, Bishan Sharma, Pawan Kumar and others.
