UDHAMPUR, Dec 19: An emergency meeting of the district Udhampur unit of All J& K Plus 2 Lecturers’ Forum was held here today under the chairmanship of Arunesh Kumar, district president of the Forum.
The meeting was convened to discuss the situation arising out from the complaint of beating of a student of Government Hr Sec School, Majalta by a lecturer. The speakers demanded that the inquiry officers should conduct a thorough probe into the whole episode to bring out the facts. They said that the said lecturer is a hardworking and efficient teacher who commands immense respect among the students and the public. The preliminary reports suggest that the said student is involved in indisciplined acts and he pushed down a female student upon which the said lecturer called him, the meet alleged and added that the student also misbehaved with the lecturer and tried to mishandle the latter physically.
Those who spoke in the meeting, included Ashok Sharma, Ashwani Kumar, Rajinder Gupta, Brij Mohan, Pawan Gupta, Satish Singh, Luxmi Kant, Ravi Kanchan, Parjesh Kumar, Ram Murti and Joginder Kumar.
