JAMMU, Jan 20: Fortis Hospital Mohali joined hands with Emedify Solutions Private Limited and launched first Fortis-Consultnext Centre at Gandhi Nagar, here today.
The facility was inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh in presence of eminent Cardiologist Dr HK Bali, Director, Cardiology, Fortis Hospital Mohali and Sandeep Kaushal, CEO, Emedify.
The centre allows patients to live consultations with Fortis doctors in Mohali without travelling all the way. Similar centres will be set up in Punjab, Haryana, HP, Jammu and Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh.
The live consultations are being organized through a highly proficient video consulting solution that allows patients to upload their investigation reports and other documents. Fortis experts from Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery, Cardiac Electrophysiology, Neuros-ciences, Orthopaedics & Joint Replacement, Oncology, IVF, Pulmonology, Vascular Surgery, Kidney Transplant, Critical Care, Nephrology, Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Endocrinology, Paediatrics & Neonatology, Rheumatology, Sports Medicine and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery will provide live consultations to the people of Jammu via these centers. The centre will have paramedical staff to help patients during the video consultation with Fortis doctors, apart from medical equipment for providing basic vitals of the patient, including an ECG facility.
Speaking on the inauguration, Dr HK Bali, Director, Cardiology, Fortis Hospital Mohali said that these centres will allow patients in far-flung and remote areas to seek medical opinion without wasting any time.
Abhijit Singh, Director of Fortis Mohali hoped that along with Emedify Solutions, these Fortis-Consultnext Centres will prove to be a big boon for people of Jammu as they will access expert opinion and state-of-the-art technology.
Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh said the Government is keen to provide adequate medical facilities to the people at their doorstep. He said Fortis Consultnext Centre facilities will go a long way in improving the availability of quality healthcare facilities in the State.

Initially, we will open these centers in cities where super specialty care is not available. Later on, we will move to villages with functional centers to cater to the rural population as well”.
