Formulate comprehensive policy for regularization of daily wagers: NMC

JAMMU, Sept 15: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) today urged the Government to formulate comprehensive policy for the regularization of daily rated workers/casual and seasonal labourers engaged in various Government Departments.
Addressing NMC workers rally at Rani Talab, Subash Shatri, president, NMC, said that amendment in SRO 64 is the need of the hour for the daily rated workers working in various Government Departments. SRO 64 should be immediately affected so that new regularization policy becomes operational from October 2 as gift to working class, he added.
Shastri hoped that the Government would sympathetically consider the demands of the daily wagers and make announcement in this regards at the earliest.
He demanded release the pending installment of 10 per cent DA due from July last in favour of Central and State Government Employees and pensioners, monthly emoluments of daily wagers to be raised to Rs 10,000 per month at the national level, setting up of 7th Pay Commission, merger of 50 per cent DA into basic pay/pension, grant of 20 per cent interim relief to Central/State Government employees and pensioners, release of pending wages of motivators, etc.
Among others present were Rajan Babu Khajuria, Sham Lal Sharma, Rakesh Padha, Anil Singh Slathia, Surinder Kumar, Ram Lal Sharma, Sukhdev Singh, etc.
