Former Minister, MLA, ADG NCC call on Governor

JAMMU, Dec 9: G .H. Mir, former Minister, called on Governor N. N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here today.
Governor and Mir discussed several important issues relating to the obtaining situation in the State.
Hakim Mohammad Yaseen, MLA Khansahib also called on Governor.
Yaseen shared his views about the obtaining situation in the Valley and the varied difficulties being faced by people. He also briefed the Governor about the impediments in the implementation of ongoing development projects in his Constituency.
Governor urged the MLA to continue sustained focus on the development of his area.
Maj. Gen. Nilendra Kumar, ADG, NCC Directorate J&K also called on Governor.
ADG, NCC, informed the Governor about the NCC’s ongoing activities in the State. He requested the Governor to urge the State Government to give early concurrence for raising the proposed NCC Battalions at Udhampur and Kupwara and 1 Air Sqn at Srinagar; consider conduct of a separate examination for cadets who may miss semester exams during November/ December owing to their participation in NCC Training Camps for their selection in NCC Republic Day Contingent and provision of incentives to NCC cadets for admissions to professional colleges and at the time of employment.
Governor informed Maj Gen. Kumar that all his concerns will be taken up with the State Government. Observing that the NCC is an excellent organization which inculcates discipline and the spirit of camaraderie and resilience, the Governor stressed the need for all required efforts being made to see that the maximum number of boys and girls from J&K get enrolled in the NCC and join the officers cadres of the Defence Services.
