Football Tournament under ‘Khelo India’ concludes

BHADERWAH, Jan 31: Three days Football Tournament organized by District Youth Services and Sports Office (DYSSO) Doda under ‘Khelo India’ programme at Bhaderwah concluded with the final matches for different categories and distribution of prizes, here today.
The tournament was organized under the chairmanship of Zonal Sports Officer (ZSO) Bhaderwah Pritam Singh at Sports stadium of Government Degree college Bhaderwah, in which 216 players from 18 teams including 6 girls teams of Bhadarwah zone participated.
In Boys, GHSS Boys Bhadarwah defeated HSS Sartingal in under-18 category, Atkhar Public School drubbed HS Nichlathara in under-16 and Blue Ribbon HSS beat Model Secular HS in under-14.
In Girls under-18 category, GHSS Girls Bhaderwah thrashed HSS Sartingal, Atkhar Public School trounced HS Manthla in under-16 and Saraswati Public School outplayed MS Mandir Bhaderwah in under-14.
The initiative is aimed at providing a platform to the talented youth to showcase their hidden skills and utilize their capabilities at the professional level.
The ‘Khelo India’ programme has been introduced to revive the sports culture in India at the grass-root level by building a strong framework for all sports played in our country and establish India as a great sporting nation.
Later, prize distribution function was held in which trophies were presented to winners and runners-up teams.
Similar tournament was also organized at Gundna zone, in which Naib Tehsildar Mohalla was the chief guest.
In Boys under-18 category, HSS Mohalla outplayed HSS Jatheli, HSS Jatheli got the better of HSS Massari in under-16 and UPS Massari beat Little Angel Public School in under-14 category.
In Girls under-18, HSS Mohalla beat HSS Jatheli, HSS Jatheli thrashed UPS Massari in under-16 and UPS Massari defeated Zenith Frontier School in under-14.
Meanwhile at Doda, three day long Zonal Football tournament of zone Bhalla concluded at HSS Berraru, here today.
In the final match (Boys Section), HSS Berraru defeated HSS Chakrabhati by 2 goals in U/19 age group, HS Bhalla defeated HS Seri in U/16 age group and in U/12 age group MS Bhalla won defeating UPS Gajoth
In Girls section, HSS Berraru won from HSS Malothi in U/19 age group, HS Seri defeated HS Dradhu and in U/12 age group UPS Guttasa defeated MS Bhalla.
At Srinagar, the tournament was conducted by the Department of Youth Services and Sports District Srinagar and organized by zone Nishat in which 20 teams participated in different age groups.
In 6 to 12 years boys final, BHS Dara defeated BMS Gupganga/BHS Harwan, while in 13 to 16 years boys final, BHS Harwan defeated Kashmir Himaliyan Sporting Club.
In 13 to 16 years, Arsalan Hamed of BHS Harwan was declared as the best Footballer of the tournament.
In  17 to 19 years boys final, Seven Stars Football Academy defeated BHS Nandpora Dal, while in 17 to 19 years, Illiyas Ahmad was declared best player of the tournament.
On the concluding function, ZPEO Nishat, Masrat Jabeen distributed trophies and medals among the teams and encouraged them to participate in games and sports.
The Department of Youth Services and Sports organized three days zonal level Football tournament under ‘Khelo India Let’s Play’ sponsored by Ministry of Youth Affairs GoI at HSS Kilhotran of Bhalessa and Bhatyas zones.
The tournament was played under the age groups of U-12, U-16 and U-19 boys and girls, The tournament was played under the overall supervision of DYSSO Doda, Ashok Kotwal.
A total number of 18 teams (225) students boys and girls participated in Bhalessa zone and 7 number of teams from Bhatyas zone.
At Bhalessa zone in U-19 boys, HSS Inherrah won the final and in U-19 girls, HSS Sinoo won the match.
In U-16 boys, HSS Inherrah clinched the final match defeating HSS Sinoo.
In U-16 girls, HSS Inherrah won the final match, while in U-12 boys, HSS Gowari claimed the title and in U-12 girls, HSS Gowari bagged the title.
At Bhatyas zone in U-16 boys GHS Budhli won the final match. In U-16 girls, GHS Budhli clinched the title.
The winners were awarded with trophies and medals by the organizers
