KATRA, Oct 26: The Legal Metrology Department Reasi has booked four well known food joints in Katra for overcharging and not following the Legal Metrology guidelines on MRP.
These food joints include Domino’s Pizza hut, Sagar Ratan, Raj Dairy & Restaurant and She-e-Punjab Restaurant. The products being sold by them were carrying dual prices, which were 5 to 25 rupees more than the actual price.
Domino’s Pizza hutt was found selling Coca-cola brand soft drink (60 ml) at the rate of Rs 60 against the actual MRP of Rs 35 of the same available in the market.
Acting on complaints regarding these establishments charging more money on food and beverages, the Legal Metrology Department officials, under the supervision of Assistant Controller Legal Metrology, Reasi, Kuldeep Raj, carried out a special drive at Katra. Inspector LMD, Sumit Bhardwaj inspected about 20 establishments and booked four for violation of various provisions of Jammu and Kashmir Weight and Measures (Enforcement) Act
