Follow 2003 ceasefire agreement in letter and spirit, Farooq to India, Pak

SRINAGAR: Asserting that people on both the side of Line of Control (LoC) have become the primary targets of border skirmishes in the State, National Conference (NC) president Farooq Abdullah urged India and Pakistan to follow 2003 ceasefire agreement in letter and spirit.

“India and Pakistan should take effective and urgent measures to restore peace along the LoC,” Dr Abdullah, who is on a four-day tour to border areas in north Kashmir, said.

Asserting that the primary concern of both India and Pakistan must be to ensure safety and security of civilians on both sides of LoC, Dr Abdullah said people living on the borders are facing the brunt of cross border hostilities between the two nuclear-powers. (AGENCIES)
