FMPHWs start district wise indefinite protest dharnas for release of salary

JAMMU, May 15: Jammu Kashmir Female Multipurpose Health Workers Welfare Association today started district wise indefinite protest dharnas to press the Government to release their pending salaries.
All the district presidents of Female Multipurpose Health Workers (FMPHWs) along with their team gathered in respective district head quarters and staged protest dharnas. The main program was held today at Madam Shashi Bala Memorial Park under the supervision of Sushil Sudan, president, Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation.
Neelam Kumari, general secretary, FMPHWs’ Welfare Association, while addressing the workers condemned higher authorities for their bogus promises and assurances given earlier. She said that all FMPHWs are working round the clock without salaries for more than a year.
During this period, she said that a number of meetings were organized with top officers/officials including the Health Minister, Commissioner/ Secretary Health, Director, Family Welfare and others to acquaint them with the situation of FMPHWs but no one paid heed to their genuine demand. She said that protest dharnas will go on continuously in all districts till the salary issue of FMPHWs is not resolved once for all.
At Reasi, the protest of FMPHWs was held today in the premises of CMO office Reasi under the chairmanship of its president, Abdul Hamied Bhat. The protesters said that they have been suffering badly due to non-payment of their salaries for last more than nine months but despite repeated protests since February 2, 2017 no formal procedure have been adopted by the Government for redressal of their issues.
Simultaneously, the protest dharnas were held at all district headquarters of Jammu Province under the leadership of JKMEF/FMPHWs’ Welfare Association leaders which include Dheeraj Sharma, Mahima Devi (Udhampur), Neeraj Malagar, Shub Lata, Poli Devi (Kathua), Kuldeep Dabgotr, Kamla Devi (Samba), S. Balbir Singh (Poonch), Farooq Mirza, Adarsh Sharma, Farida Begum (Rajouri), Mohd. Akhter (Ramban), Amjad Ali Shoukeen (Doda), Ajit Kumar Sharma, Javid (Kishtwar).
