Flyover affected shopkeepers allotted shops through draw of lots

SRINAGAR, Sept 1: A draw of lots was held by Jammu and Kashmir Economic Recon-struction Agency for allotment of shops at the newly constructed complex by the Agency at Rambagh for rehabilitation of shopkeepers being displaced in Tulsibagh – Rambagh section of Jehangir chowk- Rambagh Expressway corridor.
Muhammad Azhar, Public Relations Officer of the Agency said the draw of lots was conducted by the committee constituted by Divisional Commisioner, Kashmir for the purpose at the premises of Rambagh Rehabilitation Complex.
Azhar said that all the shopkeepers getting displaced in the Tulsibagh- Rambagh section of the expressway corridor (Flyover) were present during the draw of lots which were held in presence of G.M Dar, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Malik Basharat Ahmad , Director J&K ERA, Suhail Mircha, Social and Resettlement Expert J&K ERA representatives of Srinagar Municipal Corporation, R&B, Mohammad Sidiq Bakal president KTMF (Kashmir Traders and Manufacturers Federation) along with other office bearers of KTMF and representatives of local market committees .
All the concerned shopkeepers, trade bodies and other stakeholders appreciated the efforts made by J&K ERA and district administration for conducting the draw of lots in a transparent manner.
The Chief Minister Omar Abdullah while inaugurating the rehabilitation complexes at Rambagh and Jehangir Chowk earlier this month had directed for devising a transparent method for allotment of shops to the affected in the said rehabilitation complexes.
