JAMMU, June 17: Army today paid last tributes to Naik Bakhtabar Singh who laid down his life while responding to the unprovoked firing by Pakistan at the Line of Control in Nowshera Sector on Friday.
A wreath laying ceremony was held today at Rajouri, where General Officer Commanding, Ace of Spades Division laid wreath on behalf of the General Officer Commanding, White Knight Corps and the Army Commander, Northern Command.
The mortal remains of the soldier have been sent in a service helicopter to his native village, Hajipurin in Hoshiarpur district of Punjab for performing the last rites. Naik Bakhtabar Singh is survived by his wife, Jasbir Kaur and three children.
