Five injured in road accidents

JAMMU, Oct 1: Five persons were injured today in two separate road accidents in city outskirts.
According to a police spokesman, three persons of a family, who were identified as Chain Singh (40) son of Bedi Singh, resident of Chanuchak, his wife namely Neelam Devi (32) and their son, Amit Singh (8), were injured when a bike on which they were travelling was hit by a speeding Maruti car at Chanuchak in Kanachak area of city outskirts.
The injured persons were immediately shifted to nearby Government hospital at Mishriwala, from where they were referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu. The concerned police had taken cognizance of the matter.
Meanwhile, a rashly driven Royal Infield motorcycle bearing temporary No JMU-CA/2085 this evening hit a pedestrian at Punnu Chowk in Akhnoor area. In the mishap, the bike rider namely Nirmal Singh son of Ravail Singh of Nardiwala (Mera Mandrian) as well as the pedestrian identified as Akthar Hussain son of Mohd Sadiq, resident of Kanger (Kot Bhalwal), got injured.
Both the injured were shifted him to Sub-District hospital Akhnoor for treatment. In this connection, a case FIR No 202/2017 under Sections 279/337 RPC has been registered at police station Akhnoor and investigations started.
