Fire & Evacuation Drills conducted across Jammu

JAMMU, Feb 8: National Level Fire and Evacuation Drills were conducted in the different Commands of the J&K Fire and Emergency Services Department across Jammu region.
These drills were conducted in different schools under the guidelines of Union Ministry of Home Affairs and under the supervision of R T Dubey, Joint Director, Fire and Emergency Services, Jammu.
In Jammu Command, drills were conducted by A K Wangoo, Deputy Director, S C Verma, Divisional Fire Officer in Lotus Public High School, near CRPF Head Quarters at Channi Himmat.
In Udhampur/Reasi command, the drills were conducted in Little Angles High School, Holy Angles High School, Udhampur, Raising Pillar Public High School, Ramnagar and Presentation Convent High School Reasi.
The teams of staff and students were constituted in each school under the guidance of P K Bhat, Assistant Director, F&ES Udhampur/Reasi.
In  HSS, Shiva Nagar and in the Kids Haven School, drills were conducted by J S Bhau, Assistant Director, Romesh Lal Sharma, Sub Officer and in Government Higher Secondary School Rahya, the drill was conducted  by Tarsem Singh, Station Officer.
Similarly, in Command Rajouri/Poonch and Doda Evacuation Drills were conducted by Assistant Directors R C Raina and Girhari Lal respectively.
The main aim of  conducting these drills was to create fire safety awareness among the general masses particularly the staff and student community and also impart training to the students how to evacuate the building in case of any natural or manmade disaster.
