FIR lodged against pvt persons, officials in illegal sale of land

RAJOURI, Jan 7:  The District Administration Rajouri today lodged an FIR against the private persons  and Government officials in illegal sale-purchase of Government land and also allowing illegal constructions at these sites besides providing alternate accommodation and some financial assistance.
The Administration taking a series of steps post-demolition drive, set in motion the process of  relief and rehabilitation of displaced families and initiation of stringent action against those involved in illegal sale-purchase of land and constructions. The Administration provided alternate accommodation to  seven  displaced families and an immediate assistance of Rs 25,000 was given to each family apart from ration and essential commodities. The authorities have also adopted educational expenses and livelihood of 29 children of displaced families studying in different classes for one year.
Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri,  Dr  Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, who along with ACR Abdul Qayoom Mir, Tehsildar Salam Din, AD FCS&CA Javed Iqbal and other senior officers held a meeting with displaced families, also approved the assistance for reconstruction of houses at other locations and some compensation as per norms and guidelines in place for displaced persons.
A team comprised of Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Asstt Commissioner Development and District Social Welfare Officer has been deputed for resettlement of the 7 displaced families the plan for which was approved. Only the families below poverty line and those displaced due to located in road alignment are being provided housing and land for resettlement as per norms.
Meanwhile, details were also shared by the families about the persons who sold the land over a period of many years. Accordingly, the Administrations has lodged a case FIR No. 16/2018 u/s 420/467/468/471/447-A RPC in Police Station Rajouri against the private persons and officials involved in the instant matter.
A team of officers is already looking into the role of some officials into illegal constructions and wrongful vesting of ownership rights in few cases. A joint team of Police along with Revenue officials will conduct a detailed investigation, the DC said.
SSP Rajouri, Yougal Manhas along with Asstt Commissioner Revenue Abdul Qayoom Mir and  DySP Hq Jaswant Singh also visited a spot where some locals attempted to create hurdles in fencing of 12 Kanal prime Custodian land opposite to District Hospital, and  completed the process.
Dr Shahid said that further, removal of encroachment from main markets and vital roads is also likely to commence and they have appealed the people to remove their illegal structures from alignment of roads and town markets at their own without wasting time.
