Finally, Govt releases funds for Zanskar

JAMMU, May 19: Finally, the Government has woken up from the deep slumber and released funds on account of restoration of infrastructure damaged due to artificial lake in Zanskar area of Kargil district two years back.
EXCELSIOR in its report dated May 7, 2017 had exclusively highlighted that Zanskar was awaiting permanent restoration of infrastructure damaged due to artificial lake in the early months of 2015.
Now, the Financial Commissioner Planning, Development and Monitoring Department has accorded sanction to the release of Rs 15 crore under Capex Budget 2017-18 in favour of Ladakh Affairs Department for onward placement of funds with the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Kargil for restoration of infrastructure.
